The Purpose
The Technology Product Owner guides cross-functional teams in the successful creation of product applications built for our Apollo surgical platform. This role owns the product value roadmap and development priorities, ensuring alignment between market needs, clinical requirements, regulatory milestones, and engineering execution.
Working closely with Marketing, Engineering, and Quality & Regulatory, the Product Owner ensures the right product is delivered at the right time.
The key responsibilities of the Technology Product Owner are to:
- Define and maintain product roadmap and feature backlog.
- Translate customer, clinical, and business needs into product requirements and traceable User Stories with acceptance criteria.
- Prioritize development work in line with regulatory and commercial objectives.
- Lead sprint backlog prioritization with Technical Project Manager.
- Ensure alignment of development milestones with regulatory submission plans.
- Coordinate post-market feedback integration for commercial products.
- Own product-level cross-functional decision making (trade-offs, scope, timing).
- Represent product progress and risks to executive leadership.
- Partner with other Product Owners and Systems Engineering to ensure system-level coherence.
- Support risk management, design reviews, and technical investigations.
- Follow established procedures to ensure all system components, processes, and documentation meet relevant medical device regulations and standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304 and U.S Title 21 CFR 820)
- Some domestic and/or international travel may be required to support clinical engagement and cross-site collaboration
The ideal Technology Product Owner will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in product design or engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a dynamic medical device product management role ideally in the orthopaedic field
- Proven experience working as a product developer in a non-managerial role
- CSPO certification
- Good understanding of hardware and software engineering design principles
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and attention to quality
