Technical Project Manager - Remote

**Role Details**

• 1099 independent contractor role with full\-time hours available (up to 40 hours/week).
• $30/hour.
• 100% remote. No relocation required, but you must be based in the United States.

**The Role**

The Technical Project Manager runs day\-to\-day execution of our client technical project plans. You'll own the schedule, dependencies, status communications, and blocker resolution for every engagement assigned to you. You report to our PMO Manager and work closely with AI engineering leadership, individual engineers, web development, external engineering partners, customer service, and sales.

**What You'll Do**

• Own the active project plan for each assigned engagement (tasks, owners, dependencies, and dates) and keep it current as reality changes.
• Lead engagement kickoffs (internal and client), milestone reviews, and closeout handoffs.
• Deliver crisp, milestone\-anchored weekly status reports to clients and internal leadership.
• Triage blockers quickly, name an owner, set a target unblock date, and drive to resolution.
• Manage dependencies across engineers, web developers, and partner teams so no one is waiting on anyone invisibly.
• Maintain rigorous Asana hygiene: every task owned, every dependency named, every date current.
• Reconcile planned vs. actual time and document variances.
• Review and approve AI\-agent\-drafted status updates before they reach clients.
• Log client scope\-change requests and route commercial conversations to Sales, holding the plan stable until resolved.
• Escalate risk, security, and compliance issues promptly through defined channels.

**What Success Looks Like**

• 85%\+ of client\-visible milestones delivered on schedule.
• Blockers cleared within days, not weeks.
• Plans that match ground truth, with no "status theater."
• Every engagement gets a weekly status, every week, on the committed day.

**Qualifications**

• 3\+ years managing technical projects (software, AI/ML, data, or web development) with multiple contributors.
• Experience coordinating engineers and external vendors or partner teams.
• Strong command of Asana or a comparable project management tool.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication: clear, concise, and decision\-oriented.
• The judgment to know what to decide, what to route, and what to escalate.
• Familiarity with client data compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA) is a plus.
• PMP, CSM, or similar certification preferred.
• Interest in or experience with AI tools and agent\-assisted workflows.
