Jr. Designer

We are a soft home goods manufacturer of bedding and kitchen textile products and we are seeking a Junior to Mid-level Textile Product Designer to join our in-house design team with a strong focus on mass market kitchen and tabletop textiles, as well as bedding, bath, beach, and more. This position has an opportunity to utilize both technical and creative design skills.

The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret artwork to create production-ready files which can include reducing color count using both digital redrawing and indexing techniques
• Adjusting art as needed for product construction and printing limitations and selecting colors from Pantone color system
• Create Tech packs with close attention to detail for various soft textile products, constructions & techniques
• Prepare pattern repeats, ensuring seamless alignment, layout and scale appropriate to product type
• Review product strike offs for scale, color, and quality specifications
• Review lab dips and provide comments for buyers, internal teams, and factories
• Communicate with overseas vendors including but not limited to China, India and Pakistan
• Provide clear art and technical direction to a global design team, using simple, effective communication to ensure alignment and understanding
• Create customer presentation decks and sell sheets for all product categories
• Perform market comp shops both in person and online to stay current with trend & color
• Assist senior designers in creating design layouts & placement prints for all product categories with a strong focus in kitchen and tabletop
• Opportunity for the ideal candidate with strong design/illustration skills to assist in creating original artwork, as well as bring product development ideas to the team.

Requirements:

• 2-5 Years of experience designing for home, mass market apparel, gift, or similar field
• Bachelor’s degree in textile design, illustration, graphic design, or related field
• Advanced Proficiency in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on MAC platform
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong experience in creating pattern repeats
• Knowledge of various printing techniques
• Strong composition skills and excellent eye for color
• Ability to work both collaboratively & independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, digital organization, and time management skills
• Flexible with ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Experience using AI tools to assist design process a plus
• Knowledge of home textile fabrics, constructions, materials, print and manufacturing processes a plus
• Color separations experience a plus
