Job Summary
Compassion at Home Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Pediatric Home Health Occupational Therapist to join our growing therapy team.
This position provides skilled occupational therapy services to pediatric patients in their homes, with a focus on improving fine motor skills, visual-motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, coordination, functional participation, and independence with daily activities.
This is a flexible PRN position that allows therapists to build a caseload based on their availability. Our therapists provide individualized, one-on-one care while working closely with children, families, and other members of the therapy team.
New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply! Pediatric experience is preferred but is not required. We are looking for therapists who are motivated to work with children and families and grow their skills in the pediatric home health setting.
Compensation
- $75 per completed treatment visit
- $105 per completed evaluation
- $105 per completed re-evaluation
- PRN position with flexible scheduling
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations.
- Assess fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, bilateral coordination, sensory processing, self-care skills, motor planning, upper-extremity function, and other areas related to the child’s functional development and participation.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on evaluation findings, functional needs, physician/provider orders, and family priorities.
- Provide skilled, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in the patient’s home.
- Address areas including fine motor development, visual-motor skills, handwriting and pre-writing skills, sensory processing and regulation, bilateral coordination, motor planning, self-care skills, feeding-related skills when within the therapist's competency, and participation in age-appropriate daily activities.
- Establish measurable short-term and long-term goals based on each child’s individual needs.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment interventions and goals as clinically appropriate.
- Complete accurate and timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress documentation, re-evaluations, and discharge documentation using the agency’s electronic medical record system.
- Educate parents and caregivers regarding home programs, therapeutic activities, sensory and regulation strategies, self-care techniques, safety, and strategies to promote carryover between therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers, physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other members of the patient’s care team as appropriate.
- Communicate significant changes in patient status and participate in coordination of care.
- Maintain compliance with agency policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal requirements.
- Maintain reliable communication with the clinical and administrative team regarding scheduling, patient care, and documentation.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapist license valid in the State of Texas and in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
- Pediatric occupational therapy experience is preferred but not required.
- Pediatric home health experience is a plus but not required.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Reliable transportation to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned service area.
- Current automobile insurance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to complete applicable background screening and employment requirements.
- Strong communication, organization, time-management, and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a home health environment while maintaining communication and collaboration with the clinical team.
- Comfortable working directly with children and their parents/caregivers in the home setting.
