About this role
Overview
Columbia Church seeks an organized, analytical, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team and support our mission through faithful, effective financial stewardship. As a middle size church with around 100 regular staff members, Columbia has a diverse range of ministry activities and financial operations.
The Finance Team plays an important role in helping the church steward the resources entrusted to it by maintaining financial integrity, providing accurate, timely financial information, and developing sustainable financial practices that support ministry today and in the future.
The Staff Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, support monthly accounting processes, identify and resolve discrepancies, and contribute to timely, reliable financial reporting. This position works collaboratively with staff and ministry leaders to help ensure that financial resources are properly tracked, responsibly managed, and aligned with ministry purposes.
The ideal candidate will share Columbia's Christian beliefs and bring strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and accountability. Excellent accounting is therefore more than numbers—it is an important part of serving our church, supporting our ministries, and strengthening Columbia for the future.
