**CobbleStone Software · QA and Release · Lindenwold, NJ (hybrid after 90 days) · Full\-time, entry level**
Position Overview
CobbleStone Software is seeking an Associate QA Analyst to join our QA and Release team. This role is responsible for investigating issues that CobbleStone staff report in Contract Insight. The candidate will gather the details, reproduce the problem, and log a complete bug in Azure DevOps so Development has what they need to fix it.
This is an internal\-facing role with no direct client contact.
The Associate QA Analyst will also test each new release in our trial and demo systems, which our sales team and prospective clients use to evaluate Contract Insight, and report anything that isn't working as expected.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail\-oriented and curious, enjoys figuring out why something broke, and can explain it clearly in writing. The successful candidate will receive full training on Contract Insight, our testing process and Azure DevOps, with a clear path toward a QA Analyst or test automation role.
Success Measures
Success in this role is demonstrated by:
· Prompt acknowledgment of every reported issue, with investigation started within one business day.
· Bug reports complete enough that developers can act on them without coming back for missing details.
· Few duplicate bugs, by checking Azure DevOps for existing items before logging anything new.
· Accurate severity ratings based on business impact.
· Verification of the trial and demo systems after every release, with problems there identified before anyone else finds them.
· Clear status for every reporter, through a work item number or a specific follow\-up question.
· On\-time delivery of monthly metrics to the QA Manager
**Your first 90 days**
- **30 days:** Learn the main areas of Contract Insight, navigate the trial and demo systems, and log bugs in Azure DevOps that meet team standards with review.
- **60 days:** Triage and log most incoming issues on your own, and run release verification with a checklist.
- **90 days:** Own the intake queue day to day, meet response expectations, and suggest at least one improvement to intake or release checks.
Key Responsibilities
· Monitor internal channels (Microsoft Teams and email) throughout the day for issues reported by CobbleStone staff.
· Gather the details needed to investigate each issue, including steps taken, environment, client, browser, screenshots and error messages.
· Reproduce issues across supported browsers and document steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and supporting screenshots or recordings.
· Check Azure DevOps for existing bugs, then log new Bug work items with a clear title, repro steps, environment details and severity.
· Follow up with reporters to share the work item number, or ask for more information when an issue can't be reproduced.
· Test the trial and demo systems after each release and log any issues found, flagging anything that affects prospects or demos right away.
· Coordinate with developers and QA on bug status and retesting, and escalate urgent or blocking issues to the QA Manager.
· Track and report monthly metrics (issues received, issues reproduced, bugs logged) to the QA Manager.
· Handle company and client information confidentially, in line with company policy.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field, **or** equivalent hands\-on experience (bootcamp, certification, internship or prior technical work).
- 0–2 years of experience in software testing, technical support, help desk, or another role that involved troubleshooting software.
- Comfortable working in web\-based business applications and across multiple browsers.
- Strong written communication, including step\-by\-step instructions someone else can follow exactly.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Able to manage a steady queue of incoming requests, prioritize by urgency, and keep track of every open item.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, work items) or a similar tracker such as Jira.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
- Experience testing or supporting B2B SaaS or enterprise web applications.
- Exposure to contract management, legal, procurement or compliance software.
- Basic use of browser developer tools (console errors, network tab).
- Experience with screen capture and recording tools (Snagit, ShareX, Teams recording or similar).
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or similar QA coursework.
- Interest in test automation; any exposure to Playwright, Selenium or scripting is a plus.
Core Competencies
- **Attention to detail:** Notices the one step, setting or browser that makes an issue happen, and writes it down.
- **Analytical thinking:** Narrows a vague report ("it's broken") down to a specific cause and condition.
- **Clear written communication:** Writes bugs developers can act on without questions, and updates reporters in plain language.
- **Curiosity:** Asks "why" and "what else could this affect" instead of stopping at the first answer.
- **Organization and follow\-through:** Tracks every open issue and finishes release checks on time.
- **Judgment and prioritization:** Knows a cosmetic glitch from a blocker, and escalates the right things fast.
- **Collaboration:** Works easily with Support, Sales, Development and QA, and stays factual when an issue is contested.
- **Learning agility:** Picks up a large, configurable product quickly and keeps learning as new features ship.
- **Confidentiality:** Handles client data and non\-public product information with care.
