JOB TITLE Staff Accountant

PAY $62,000 - $72,000 per year, plus quarterly performance bonus

JOB TYPE Full-time, salaried, on-site, Monday-Friday day shift Location: Ayden, NC (in person)

THE ROLE

As our Staff Accountant, you own the integrity of accounts receivable and accounts payable. You make sure customers are billed accurately and on time, vendor invoices are validated before they are paid, the subledgers reconcile to the general ledger, and past-due balances get collected. You will also buy the day-to-day items that keep the plant running.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Reconcile the AR and AP subledgers and company credit cards to the general ledger each month
• Prepare and send customer invoices daily
• Work past-due accounts to collection and recommend credit holds or term changes
• Research and resolve billing disputes and short payments
• Validate vendor invoices against purchase orders and receipts, and enter them daily
• Purchase day-to-day items through our requisition system (orders up to $10,000)
• Prepare weekly AR and AP aging reviews and ad hoc reports
• Support audits and back up other areas of the department during absences

WHAT YOU BRING

• Associate degree in business or accounting (bachelor's preferred)
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience preparing account reconciliations
• Experience with collections and resolving billing disputes
• Strong Excel skills, plus Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with an ERP or MRP system
• Purchasing experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Able to work in office and plant temperatures and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
