Position Summary
CloudFirst is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support technology solutions across multiple client environments.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role responsible for Microsoft 365, Azure, identity management, Windows infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, backup, automation, and technical project delivery. MSP experience is strongly preferred. Experience with CMMC and NIST 800-171 is a plus but not required.
Cloud & Infrastructure
Design and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and hybrid environments.
Lead migrations, upgrades, tenant improvements, identity modernization, and infrastructure projects.
Administer Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Defender, and Azure services.
Evaluate security, licensing, supportability, monitoring, backup, recovery, and operational readiness.
Networking & Security
Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
Implement security controls, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint protection.
Support vulnerability remediation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective engineering.
Project Delivery
Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
Lead assigned projects, assessments, escalations, and technical initiatives.
Coordinate with project managers, service desk teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.
Provide accurate estimates, status updates, risk assessments, and technical recommendations.
Documentation & Leadership
Produce as-built documentation, runbooks, diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
Provide escalation support for complex technical issues.
Mentor engineers and technicians.
Help develop engineering standards, automation, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on infrastructure, systems, cloud, or network engineering experience.
- MSP, consulting, or multi-client support experience.
- Strong Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and hybrid identity experience.
- Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and endpoint management.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites in Orange, Westchester, and surrounding counties.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, DFARS, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks.
Microsoft GCC or GCC High experience.
Experience with ConnectWise, Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti, SentinelOne, Huntress, Auvik, Veeam, Datto, or Microsoft Defender.
PowerShell, scripting, APIs, automation, and AI-assisted operations.
Experience supporting municipalities, public sector, nonprofits, or regulated organizations.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 annually
