The Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary vision rehabilitation team. In this role, you’ll help individuals with vision loss increase independence, safety, confidence, and quality of life through personalized rehabilitation, adaptive strategies, and assistive technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform low vision occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapy services at CVI Midtown, satellite clinic locations, and occasional home visits
  • Train clients in ADLs, compensatory techniques, environmental modifications, and adaptive strategies:

Electronic magnification devices

Lighting and contrast strategies

Smartphones, smart glasses, tablets, and accessibility features

Adaptive equipment and digital tools that support independence

  • Help clients apply technology and adaptive strategies to real\-life tasks such as medication management, communication, reading, cooking, and community participation
  • Educate clients and family members on resources, safety, and home recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with OTs, COTAs, Vision Rehabilitation Therapists, Orientation \& Mobility Specialists, and Low Vision Optometrists
  • Complete documentation, scheduling, and billing within the EMR
  • Participate in trainings and continuing education opportunities

Qualifications (Required)

  • Graduate of an ACOTE\-accredited OT program
  • Active Georgia OT license \& NBCOT certification
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
  • (New grads with strong interest welcome to apply)
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • CPR certification \& malpractice insurance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Compassion for individuals experiencing vision loss
  • HIPAA compliance and adherence to clinical practice standards required

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Low vision certification (CLVT, SCLV, ACVREP)
  • Experience in geriatrics or rehabilitation
  • Experience with or interest in assistive technology, accessibility, or adaptive equipment
  • Passion for creative problem\-solving and helping clients maximize independence

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 20 pounds
