Staff Accountant

About the Role

Carpetland USA is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting and administrative operations. Based in Davenport, this full-time position plays a key role in keeping our multi-location business running smoothly—from managing complex financial reconciliations to assisting with daily financial operations and reporting.

Schedule:

• Standard Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Late Shifts: 1–2 days per week from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekend Support: One Saturday per month from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Reporting: Perform bank statement reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and financial statement fluctuation analysis.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare sales and use tax reports.
• Core Accounting Support: Assist with accounts payable processing, daily sales reporting, and receipt tracking.
• Operations & Scheduling: Order materials, schedule carpet installations, and process inventory receiving records.
• Clerical & Data Management: Handle high-accuracy data entry, answer customer and vendor phone calls, and general office tasks.

What We Are Looking For

• Education & Experience: A four-year degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional accounting experience.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, above-average 10-key speed/accuracy, and strong phone communication skills.
• Work Ethic: High reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Process-Driven: Willingness to learn, adapt to, and consistently follow established company procedures.
• Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
