About this role
About Us
Caring People is a dedicated home healthcare agency committed to providing exceptional care to patients in their homes. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in New Jersey. This role sits in our New Jersey office and primarily focuses on NJ operations, while also providing remote HR and compliance support for our Florida branch.
Job Summary
The Home Healthcare HR Coordinator will manage human resources, onboarding, benefits, and regulatory compliance for our field staff and clinicians across New Jersey and Florida. This role is highly administrative and compliance-focused, serving as a critical bridge between new hires, state regulatory bodies, and our central payroll department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding & Orientation: Manage full digital onboarding funnels for both NJ and FL hires. Issue state-specific new hire packets and coordinate with clinical supervisors to ensure mandatory in-person competency assessments are completed.
- Compliance & Credential Tracking: Audit and track mandatory health clearings and licenses (RN, LPN, CNA, CHHA). Navigate the Florida AHCA Clearinghouse for Level 2 screenings and manage fingerprinting and background clearances through the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain meticulous, audit-ready electronic personnel files separated by state to ensure seamless compliance during unannounced State Department of Health surveys.
- Payroll Administrative Liaison: Manage data-handoff to the central payroll department. Collect, verify, and submit direct deposit updates (voided checks/bank letters) and tax forms (Federal W-4 and NJ-W4).
- Benefits & State Leave Administration: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries regarding company benefits. Manage employee requests for NJ Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI), Family Leave Insurance (FLI), and federal FMLA.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience, strictly preferred within home care, healthcare, or a high-volume hourly workforce setting.
- Location & Regulation Knowledge: Must reside in New Jersey and possess a strong, primary understanding of NJ labor laws (including the NJ Earned Sick Leave Law and Wage Theft Act).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and digital compliance portals (such as the FL AHCA Clearinghouse or NJ license verification boards).
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong remote communication skills for managing out-of-state staff, and an absolute commitment to maintaining strict HIPAA and employee data confidentiality.
Pay: From $26.50 per hour
