Senior Electrical / Systems Engineer

Bring specialized E3 and HEMP engineering expertise to complex defense hardware—performing analysis, qualification testing, technical reviews, and environmental validation in support of mission-critical systems.
A Day in the Life - What You’ll Do
---------------------------------------
- Perform E3 and HEMP analysis, modeling, testing, and verification of complex defense hardware and integrated systems.
- Use the Ansys engineering suite to perform E3 and HEMP analysis and support system qualification and verification activities.
- Develop technical analyses, test plans, procedures, reports, and presentations for major technical milestone reviews with Government customers.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute environmental qualification testing while collaborating with engineering teams, suppliers, stakeholders, and Government customers.
- Evaluate vendor documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and datasheets to verify compliance with technical and program requirements.
- Support multidisciplinary engineering efforts involving electrical, systems, thermal, and structural disciplines.
Required Qualifications

Level III:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5+ years of related experience; OR
- Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience; OR
- PhD with 1+ year of related experience.
Level IV:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 8+ years of related experience; OR
- Master’s degree with 5+ years of related experience; OR
- PhD with 4+ years of related experience.
Required for Both Levels:
- Current, active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application and required to start.
- Experience with E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) testing and analysis.
- Experience with HEMP (High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) testing and analysis.
- Experience using the Ansys suite for E3 and HEMP analysis.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-461.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-464.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-188-125-1/2.
- Knowledge of the IEC 61000 series.
- Experience developing and presenting technical content for milestone technical reviews with Government customers.
- Ability to work full-time in an in-office/closed-area environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with thermal analysis using Ansys Icepak.
- Experience with structural analysis using NX, Femap, and/or Abaqus.
- Knowledge of environmental qualification requirements, including MIL-STD-810.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale environmental qualification test campaigns.
- Experience developing qualification test plans, procedures, and final test reports.
- Experience coordinating supplier contracts, technical stakeholders, and test execution activities.
- Experience reviewing 2D electrical drawings in accordance with applicable ASME standards.
- Experience with engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Teamcenter.
- Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems such as SAP.
- Experience evaluating vendor documentation, specifications, and datasheets to ensure requirements are satisfied.
- Exposure to DOORS and/or Cameo.
- Familiarity with MDA-QS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, and MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process).
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1366 and MIL-STD-1472.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000.
- Thermal and structural analysis experience is strongly preferred for candidates being considered for a full-time multidisciplinary engineering role.
