Carboncopies Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the science and technology of whole brain emulation. The Volunteer C++ Programming Intern will support the development and maintenance of software systems and research infrastructure by writing and debugging C++ code, implementing features, documenting systems, and collaborating with developers and researchers.

Responsibilities

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code for various foundation projects Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing software systems Implement new features and enhance functionality based on evolving project requirements Contribute to maintaining comprehensive technical documentation Collaborate with other developers, technical volunteers, and researchers Participate in code reviews and assist with testing to ensure software quality

Qualifications: Proficiency in C++ programming, with a solid grasp of object-oriented principles Experience with version control systems such as Git Familiarity with software development best practices and agile workflows Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting Currently enrolled in an academic institution Interest in brain science, neural technologies, or whole brain emulation is a strong plus Prior experience is a Plus
