OR Registered Nurse

Coverage needed: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please indicate which days you are available when applying.

Responsibilities

IV placement is a mandatory requirement. Candidates must be proficient and confident in independently starting peripheral IVs. Experience administering medication through an existing IV alone does not meet this requirement.

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting
• Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures
• Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia during surgery
• Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon
• Document patient information, including medical history and surgical procedures performed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Administers patient medications, coordinates treatments and procedures in a safe, effective and age appropriate manner.
• Collect and prepare data reports help track progress in preventing infections that yields risk-adjusted incidence rates

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room setting
• Strong knowledge of electronic medical records management, charting, and documentation practices (preferably in Nextech)
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of employment or documentation of current BLS /ACLScertification.
• Experience in pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Ability to phlebotomize and perform other basic laboratory procedures
• In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology, particularly related to surgical procedures
• Skilled in IVand medication administration
• Familiarity with home care practices and discharge planning
