About this role

Occupational Therapist – Neuro Focus (Stroke, Parkinson's, TBI, MS)

Location: Cadence Physical Therapy – Buffalo Grove, IL

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Setting: Neuro Outpatient

About the Clinic

At Cadence, we believe therapy should look like real life. We are a therapist-owned, family-oriented clinic where the patient always comes first. Unlike high-volume clinics, we prioritize quality of care through 1:1 treatment sessions, allowing you the time and space to actually treat, educate, and connect with your patients.

Cadence is an independent neuro clinic in Buffalo Grove – stroke, Parkinson's, TBI, MS, vestibular, and dysphagia – with PT, OT, and speech under one roof. Ten years in business. Owner-operated, no private equity, not for sale.

Rated 5.0 on Indeed by the people who work here. Our clinical lead, Dr. Nelli Ban, still treats patients every week, so the person setting your schedule works one too.

While we are a neuro-specific clinic, we take a holistic approach, treating the whole person – upper-extremity function, cognition, vision, and the daily activities that matter to each patient. You'll be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary PT/OT/SLP team that values creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and functional results.

Why Join the Cadence Family

  • True 1:1 Patient Care: No double-booking. No rushing. Hour-long evaluations. Focus on the human in front of you.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Our owners are therapists who work right alongside you. We provide structured in-clinic training and ongoing mentorship, and our team holds LSVT BIG certification for Parkinson's care.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work and learn with experts across PT, OT, and SLP to provide comprehensive care – your stroke patient's PT and SLP are down the hall, not across town.
  • Freedom to Create: We encourage "Real Life Therapy." If your patient needs to practice cooking, getting in and out of the car, or getting back to a hobby – we make it happen.
  • Work-Life Balance: We are a family-first clinic. Monday–Friday, no weekends. We work hard, but we respect your time and your life outside of Cadence.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive Salary based on experience.
  • Health Insurance: Aetna, two plan options, with employer contribution. Optional dental (Principal) with employer contribution. HSA and FSA available.
  • 401(k) with 3% company match.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid Holidays.
  • Continuing Education (CEU): Annual budget for neuro coursework and certifications.
  • Mentorship Program: Direct access to seasoned clinicians for skill development.
  • Monday–Friday. No weekends. We mean it.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (MOT or OTD).
  • Licensure: Active (or pending) Illinois Occupational Therapy License; NBCOT certified or eligible.
  • The Right Fit: An OT who loves neuro and is tired of the productivity grind at the big chains or in the SNF – someone who wants the time to do real neuro work with complex patients and get better at it.
  • Mindset: A creative problem-solver who values a "family feel" and wants to be part of a supportive, non-corporate environment.

How to Apply

If you're tired of the "90% productivity" grind and want to fall in love with therapy again, we'd love to meet you. Apply here on Indeed or email your resume and cover letter to [email protected]. Applying is confidential, and you'll hear back from the owner within two business days.
