The Opportunity:
As a Systems Engineer on the FADE team, you will be working closely with our agile development, product owners, infrastructure, site reliability engineering, and security teams to manage and track changes to the system as new capabilities are being added to the system.
This position requires you to understand existing program interfaces, but also track updates and additions to the interfaces and coordinate changes with the government customer and other teams within the FADE organization.
You will be a key member of the team, doing work that matters for some of the U. S. Government’s most critical missions, building relationships and interfaces that support the IC and DoD communities.
Responsibilities:
- Own the program's technical documents while working with the engineering team to keep documents up to date
- Define and execute dynamic document generation based on system interfaces
- Become an expert on externally exposed APIs and support external entities utilizing custom APIs, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) API standards, API Gateways, and others
- Coordinate new API data sharing requests and lead Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with external customers
- Provide technical integration support and user troubleshooting
- Conduct technical briefings to the FADE Program Management Office (PMO) for integration approvals
- Perform API testing support for endpoint changes and customer integration use-cases
- Possess the communication skills to coordinate activities among FADE customers, system engineers, developers, and mission operations teams
- If/when necessary, analyze system requirements and assist in design and development activities to satisfy requirements
Qualifications :
Required :
- U.S. Citizen and hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance and polygraph preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of related experience is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication skills to coordinate activities among FADE customers, system engineers, developers, and mission operations teams
- Technical writing skills to include: concepts of operation, software release notes, user guides, test procedures, engineering and architectural diagrams, and presentation development
- Knowledge and experience debugging, troubleshooting, and testing REST APIs
- Experience using and creating dashboarding tools (Grafana, ELK, etc) to monitor API usage
- Experience performing system and user activity log reviews
- Have knowledge of RESTful API services, OGC WFS and WMS standards, and Real-Time Streaming (web socket) and associated technologies (GeoServer, Jupyter Notebooks, Kafka, etc.) used for integration
Desired:
- Experience with creating and maintaining Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts
- Experience creating or maintaining DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views
Experience with automated test frameworks that could be leveraged to perform API level testing

The proposed salary range for this position is:
