Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) \- Flexible 1099 Contractor
**$75–$90 per 60\-minute treatment visit \| Flexible schedule \| You choose your service area**
Building Blocks Pediatric Therapy is a small, family\-owned pediatric OT and speech therapy practice providing in\-home and community\-based services throughout Maryland. We’re owned and operated by a husband\-and\-wife therapy team \- an occupational therapist and speech\-language pathologist \- and we’re looking for another pediatric OT to join us as we continue to grow.
We started Building Blocks because we wanted therapy to feel personal, flexible, collaborative, and centered around what actually works for children and their families. We want working with us to feel much the same way.
A Caseload Built Around You
We know therapists have lives outside of work, and we aren't looking to dictate when, where, or how much you work.
**You tell us:**
- How many clients you want
- What days and times you want to work
- What geographic areas you're willing to serve
- What types of clients fit your experience and interests
We'll work to match referrals to those preferences and geographically cluster clients whenever possible to minimize unnecessary driving.
Want a handful of clients each week for extra income? Great.
Want to start small and gradually build a larger caseload? We can do that too.
**You’re welcome to keep your caseload as small or as large as works for you. We just ask that, once you accept a client, you’re able to consistently support that family at the agreed\-upon treatment frequency. **
There is no expectation that you cover our entire service area.
We currently have children waiting for occupational therapy services in several areas of Maryland and are continuing to receive new referrals.
Why Building Blocks?
We're a small practice, and we want to keep the things we love about being small as we grow.
You'll have:
- A highly flexible schedule
- Control over your preferred caseload size and service area
- The ability to accept referrals that fit your schedule and interests
- Support from two practicing pediatric therapists who understand the realities of the job
- Clients and referrals provided to you
- Electronic medical records and documentation through SimplePractice
- Billing and family payments handled by Building Blocks
- Opportunities to collaborate across OT and speech when helpful
- The ability to grow your caseload over time if you choose
Our goal is to handle the business side so you can focus primarily on being a therapist.
Compensation
**$75–$90 per completed 60\-minute treatment visit. **
Evaluations are compensated at a higher rate to account for assessment, scoring, documentation, and plan\-of\-care development.
This is a **1099 independent contractor position**. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, transportation, professional liability insurance, and other independent contractor expenses.
