About this role

NOW HIRING: Experienced Infusion RN – Watkinsville, GA

BrightStar Care | Skilled Nursing Opportunity

BrightStar Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized in-home infusion nursing care for a client in Watkinsville, Georgia. This case requires strong infusion skills, respiratory care awareness, and the ability to manage a prolonged infusion visit.

Case Details

  • Location: Watkinsville, GA
  • Start of Care (SOC): October 22, 2026
  • Medication: Bivigam 60 g every 2 weeks via implanted port
  • Additional Therapy: 4 hours of hydration
  • Infusion Duration: Approximately 10–12 hours per treatment
  • Schedule: Every two weeks, with the full infusion completed in one visit

Clinical Requirements

  • Experience administering IVIG infusions
  • Competency accessing and managing an implanted port using a Huber needle
  • Ability to monitor the client throughout prolonged infusion and hydration therapy
  • Experience recognizing and responding to infusion reactions and other complications
  • Comfort providing care to a client who uses a ventilator with a custom-made mask and supplemental oxygen at 4–10 L/min
  • Ability to monitor respiratory status and follow the established Plan of Care

Important Case Considerations

  • The IVIG infusion must be completed in a single visit and cannot be split across two days due to a history of aseptic meningitis associated with a prior split-infusion attempt.
  • The port remains accessed as part of the client's established treatment plan.
  • The client receives palliative care, requiring compassionate, attentive, and patient-centered nursing support.
