About this role

Head of Business Operations — LinkedIn Job Posting

Braid is building the connectivity infrastructure layer for the next generation of digital brands. Our API-first platform lets businesses embed global mobile connectivity directly into their products and customer journeys, without building and operating telecom infrastructure themselves.

We connect businesses to carrier networks across 200+ countries, enabling companies to launch SIM and eSIM services, deliver connectivity benefits, and create new revenue streams.

Built on years of hands-on experience operating a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Braid combines deep telecom expertise with modern technology to make connectivity programmable, scalable, and accessible to businesses worldwide.

Today, Braid is a lean, high-performing team generating [confirm current ARR figure before posting] in annual recurring revenue, backed by a Series A round led by Octopus Ventures.

As Head of Business Operations, you'll be a strategic partner to our Co-Founder & COO, responsible for how Braid plans, operates, and scales.

You'll take one unstructured area of the business at a time, whether that's planning cadence, commercial operations, vendor and compliance processes, or international expansion, and build its first working structure, either by building it yourself or by directing the right resource to do it. As those processes mature, you'll help decide how they're run going forward.

This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for someone who has done this before: built real operating structure from scratch at a growing company, not inherited it.

What You'll Do

  • Company strategy & operating cadence.
  • Partner with leadership to translate strategy into clear priorities and measurable goals.
  • Stand up the company's planning rhythm, including OKRs, quarterly reviews, and performance tracking, where it doesn't exist yet, and keep it running once it does.
  • Business performance & reporting.
  • Build a single, reliable view of company performance: a KPI framework leadership can actually use to make decisions, not just report results.
  • Commercial & customer operations.
  • Identify friction in the customer lifecycle, from onboarding through delivery and expansion, and build the processes that remove it.
  • Operational infrastructure.
  • Take functional areas that don't yet have structure, such as contracts, vendor management, compliance, and people processes, and build their first working version.
  • Decide, case by case, whether a process should be run in-house, handed to a fractional specialist, or folded into a future hire.
  • AI & automation.
  • Find where AI can compress manual work, pilot the tooling, and embed it into day-to-day workflows, with a measurable efficiency result, not just a list of tools tried.
  • International operations.
  • Support execution as Braid enters new markets, standing up the operational and employment infrastructure a new market needs once it has been identified as a priority.

What We're Looking For

Seniority:

this is not an entry-level or early-career role. We're looking for someone with meaningful prior ownership of a process or function end to end, not just time spent supporting one — typically 7+ years of professional experience.

  • Has personally built operational or business-planning structure from scratch at a high-growth company, ideally in technology, infrastructure, fintech, or another complex B2B environment
  • Comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution: you'll build the analysis yourself as often as you'll direct someone else to
  • Strong commercial and financial instincts: you understand revenue models, forecasting, and the levers that drive sustainable growth
  • A builder, not a bureaucrat: you introduce the right amount of process for the company's stage, and know when a simple solution beats a sophisticated one
  • Comfortable using AI as a genuine operational lever, with results you can point to
  • Recognizes when a decision has legal, employment, or data-protection implications and knows to loop in outside expertise before shipping it
  • International operating experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • This is a builder role at an early-stage, Series A company: the mandate is to stand up processes that don't exist yet, not to manage an existing large operations organization

Location & Logistics

  • Location: NY / East Coast, USA
  • Regular working overlap with European business hours; occasional overlap with India
  • Reports to the Co-Founder & COO
