Job description

About this role

Position Title:

Sr Accountant/ Staff Accountant - Hybrid

A national education nonprofit started as a philanthropic effort, grew into a mission-driven organization, and has expanded deliberately over the last 20 years. The organization has an accounting role open for a professional who wants finance work to connect directly to better outcomes for students and educators.

The Sr Accountant/ Staff Accountant supports the general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts, reconciliations, and federal grant compliance, working alongside the Senior Director of Finance and a collaborative finance leadership team.

The culture is professional, focused, and service-oriented, with a small, dedicated group where many team members have been in place for years. Growth is strategic rather than rapid, which keeps the mission and partners at the center of every decision. The position is remote for candidates in the Phoenix Valley, with one in-office day each week for the team meeting, which may taper over time.

Performance-based annual reviews and raises are part of the role.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $85,000 / Year DOE
