About this role
About Bobrick
Headquartered in North Hollywood, CA, Bobrick is a global leader in stainless steel commercial washroom accessories with more than 100 years of innovation. Founded in 1906, Bobrick pioneered the world's first lavatory-mounted soap dispenser and has grown into a mid-sized, privately owned enterprise with trusted brands like Koala Kare.
Today, Bobrick operates eight manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and India, serving customers in over 125 countries worldwide.
Job Summary
Bobrick is hiring a Senior Product Manager to join the Marketing team and help shape the future of our products. In this role, you will drive the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of assigned physical, manufactured product lines.
You'll be responsible for identifying market opportunities, developing product strategies, and managing the full product lifecycle from concept and development through commercialization, launch, and ongoing improvement.
As an experienced Senior Product Manager, you will bring a record of delivering measurable growth, strong commercial judgment, and the initiative to move opportunities forward. You'll bring a fresh market perspective, challenge assumptions constructively, and develop creative, practical approaches to customer problems.
Your ability to frame opportunities clearly and build commitment across teams will be essential to your success.
Working within the category strategy and agreed business priorities, you will lead product growth plans from opportunity assessment through lifecycle improvement. You will partner with the Marketing Category Manager, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and other functions to balance customer value, product quality, speed to market, and financial returns.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing physical products within a manufacturing environment, preferably in building products, commercial equipment, industrial products, or a related industry. This position requires strong commercial and financial acumen, including market analysis, pricing strategies, revenue growth, and product profitability.
Why This Role Matters
Your decisions will shape the products customers specify, install, and use every day. By connecting customer insights with product innovation and commercial strategy, you will help Bobrick meet evolving market needs, strengthen its competitive position, and deliver profitable growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Growth and commercial performance
- Develop and lead growth plans for assigned product lines. Identify opportunities in customer segments, applications, channels, and partnerships, and work with Sales to translate them into specifications, adoption, and revenue.
- Build compelling business cases that connect customer needs and competitive differentiation to market potential, pricing, target costs, forecast assumptions, and expected financial returns. Recommend where to invest, improve, or discontinue products.
- Track sales, margins, adoption, and performance against business cases and forecasts. Identify performance gaps, lead corrective actions, and adjust plans based on market results.
Customer insight and opportunity development
- Engage architects, designers, building owners, facility managers, contractors, and distributors through interviews, field observations, and concept testing. Understand how products are specified, purchased, installed, used, and maintained.
- Combine customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends to uncover unmet needs and frame growth opportunities. Challenge established assumptions with evidence and explore alternative solutions before committing resources.
Positioning and successful commercialization
- Develop clear segmentation, target audiences, positioning, value propositions, pricing recommendations, and go-to-market plans. Articulate why customers should choose the product and what will motivate adoption.
- Lead launch planning with Sales and Marketing, including channel engagement, sales enablement, customer education, and readiness milestones. Test messaging and commercial approaches, address buying barriers, and refine plans using early market feedback.
- Take responsibility for post-launch performance. Track results against adoption and financial goals, identify what is gaining traction, and lead changes to the offer, messaging, pricing, or sales approach as needed.
Product development and cross-functional leadership
- Translate validated opportunities into clear product requirements and a prioritized initiative plan aligned with the category roadmap. Lead cross-functional teams from concept through commercialization, managing timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
- Build alignment without relying on direct authority. Present persuasive recommendations, navigate competing priorities, resolve barriers, and establish clear decisions, responsibilities, and next steps.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to evaluate tradeoffs among customer value, performance, quality, cost, and timing. Develop practical solutions that protect the business case and maintain momentum.
Lifecycle performance and continuous improvement
- Lead product improvements, value engineering, assortment recommendations, and transitions. Advance pricing and cost initiatives that strengthen competitiveness and profitability.
- Work with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to address recurring complaints and defects, improve reliability, and incorporate field learning into future products.
- Ensure product content, competitive comparisons, training, and sales materials communicate accurate information and clear customer benefits. Improve development and launch practices using lessons from project and market results.
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree and 7+ years’ work experience in marketing, preferably in the commercial construction industry; M.B.A. with a concentration in marketing highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing physical, manufactured products throughout the product lifecycle, including product development, commercialization, and ongoing portfolio management. Experience exclusively in software, SaaS, or digital product management does not meet this requirement.
- Proven success in product management or a closely related commercial role, with measurable results in revenue growth, margin improvement, market expansion, or product adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities, supported by direct customer engagement and a clear understanding of buying behavior and channels to market.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and influence. A record of building commitment, making clear recommendations, and moving initiatives forward through competing priorities and uncertainty.
- Creative problem-solving combined with analytical and financial judgment. Experience evaluating pricing, costs, forecasts, investment returns, and commercial tradeoffs.
- Clear, persuasive communication that helps internal teams and external partners understand the customer problem, the opportunity, and the value of the proposed solution.
- A proactive approach, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to challenge assumptions respectfully, test ideas, learn from results, and adapt.
- Position requires up to 20% travel to attend trade shows, conferences, meetings internally and with vendors, etc. It can require both domestic and international travel.
- Experience in building products, commercial equipment, durable goods, or other B2B physical product businesses is valuable. Experience with distributors, specification-driven sales, or multiple stakeholders in the purchasing decision is a plus. Relevant success in adjacent industries is welcome.
