Job description

About this role

BoaVida means “Good Life!”

BoaVida Communities is a national operator of Manufactured Home and RV Communities. We manage a portfolio of 250+ properties, mostly in California, with locations from coast to coast. The Sacramento Business Journal named us the fastest growing company in the region, and our HR team is growing with us.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who wants to be part of the daily work of HR. In this role you’ll work directly with senior leadership and frontline managers to solve real people issues, guide managers through tough decisions, and help build consistent HR practices across a diverse, multistate organization.

This role is a good fit if you’re a practical problem solver who is comfortable working with both field managers and executives. Growth here goes beyond titles. You’ll gain broad experience across employee relations, compliance, and operations in a company that’s still building and improving.

What You’ll Do

Employee Relations and Manager Partnership

  • Serve as the main HR partner for an assigned group of zones, regions, and properties
  • Coach managers on performance, discipline, attendance, and employee concerns
  • Lead intake on employee relations issues and recommend fair, consistent resolutions
  • Conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend next steps

Compliance and Risk

  • Apply federal, state, and local employment laws, with a strong focus on California
  • Identify risk early and escalate to HR leadership when needed
  • Support the interactive process for accommodation requests and partner with our Leave and Workers’ Compensation team
  • Keep documentation accurate, complete, and audit ready

HR Operations and Programs

  • Partner with Payroll on pay changes, terminations, and wage and hour questions
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Help roll out policies, trainings, and HR programs to field teams
  • Use HR data and reporting to spot trends and suggest improvements

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including hands-on employee relations
  • Working knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting a multistate workforce
  • Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with care
  • Clear, confident communication with employees, managers, and executives
  • Strong organization and follow through in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Curiosity and a desire to keep learning

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Experience in property management, real estate, hospitality, or other multisite operations

Benefits

  • 401(k)
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Paid time off

Equal Employment Opportunity

BoaVida Communities is an equal opportunity employer. We base employment decisions on job related qualifications, skills, and business needs, without regard to any characteristic protected by law.

Pre-Employment Screening

Offers of employment depend on successful completion of pre-employment screening after a conditional offer. Screening includes verification of identity and work authorization through E Verify, a background check related to the position, and drug testing as permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law. All candidates for this role go through the same screening requirements.
