About Biscuits & Buns
Biscuits & Buns is a growing, locally owned restaurant brand with two New Orleans locations. We're looking for an experienced, dependable, hands-on Restaurant Operations Manager to help oversee daily operations, lead our teams, and maintain consistent standards across both restaurants.
Our ownership team is actively involved in daily operations. We're seeking a strong second-in-command who can take responsibility, make sound decisions, and ensure the restaurants operate smoothly without constant supervision.
This is not a desk management position. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example, solving problems, and keeping the team focused.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations and support overall restaurant performance at both locations.
- Ensure restaurants open on time, remain properly staffed, and are prepared for service.
- Lead shifts during busy periods and assist employees wherever needed.
- Maintain excellent guest service, cleanliness, organization, and operational standards.
- Monitor daily sales, labor costs, cash handling, and shift performance.
- Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them.
Staff Leadership & Accountability
- Supervise, coach, and develop restaurant employees.
- Prepare schedules, manage attendance, and coordinate shift coverage.
- Set clear performance expectations and consistently enforce company policies.
- Address employee disagreements, misconduct, and performance concerns promptly and professionally.
- Document employee incidents, disciplinary actions, and performance issues.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and a respectful workplace.
- Communicate significant personnel, safety, or operational concerns to ownership immediately.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee evaluations.
Business Support
- Work closely with ownership to improve efficiency, service, and profitability.
- Support restaurant promotions, special events, and catering operations.
- Coordinate with kitchen leadership to maintain smooth service.
- Help implement existing procedures and ensure employees follow them.
- Provide consistent updates regarding staffing, operations, and areas needing improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience required.
- Experience independently opening, closing, or managing high-volume restaurant shifts.
- Strong employee leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with employee scheduling, labor management, and performance accountability.
- Comfortable using restaurant POS and scheduling systems; Toast or Sling experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work weekends and occasional evenings.
- Reliable transportation between both New Orleans locations.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work alongside employees.
Who Will Succeed in This Role
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership without needing constant reminders.
- Holds employees accountable fairly and consistently.
- Handles difficult conversations professionally.
- Recognizes problems early and communicates proactively.
- Maintains professionalism while building positive staff relationships.
- Is dependable, punctual, organized, and follows through.
- Can move between two restaurants and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Wants a long-term opportunity to grow into greater leadership responsibility.
Growth Opportunity
This position offers the opportunity to develop into a larger leadership role as Biscuits & Buns continues to grow. The right individual will gradually assume greater responsibility for daily operations across both locations.
Compensation: $20–$24 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
