Mortgage Operations Manager

Bay Capital Mortgage Corporation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our corporate office in Annapolis, Maryland. Strong mortgage closing expertise and hands-on experience managing daily workflows in Encompass are essential.

This position oversees the daily activities of Processors, Closers, and Post Closers, with particular emphasis on closing execution, pipeline management, and effective use of Encompass. The Operations Manager will lead staff, resolve issues, and maintain efficient, compliant workflows that deliver outstanding service to borrowers, loan officers, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily mortgage operations, balancing workloads and managing priorities across processing, closing, and post-closing.
• Oversee the closing process, including closing document preparation, Closing Disclosure accuracy and timing, coordination with settlement agents, funding, and timely resolution of closing issues.
• Manage daily pipeline activity in Encompass, including milestones, work queues, reporting, data accuracy, and adherence to established workflows.
• Serve as an internal resource for Encompass users, troubleshooting workflow issues, training staff, and coordinating system improvements with administrators and support providers.
• Monitor pipelines to identify bottlenecks, address outstanding conditions, and meet closing and delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate with Secondary Marketing to integrate policies and procedures into daily operations and support lock, funding, and investor delivery requirements.
• Train, coach, and mentor staff while maintaining accountability for quality, productivity, compliance, and customer service.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of mortgage operations management or supervisory experience.
• Substantial hands-on mortgage closing experience, including closing documents, TRID requirements, funding coordination, and issue resolution.
• Strong working knowledge of Encompass and demonstrated experience managing daily mortgage pipelines and operational workflows within the system.
• Extensive knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines, credit, title, appraisals, insurance, and the mortgage loan lifecycle.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and produce accurate work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to train, manage, coach, and mentor staff while working collaboratively with loan officers and other departments.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
