**Overview**
Join our dynamic team as a Solar Designer / Project Engineer and play a pivotal role in advancing renewable energy solutions! **Responsibilities**
- Develop detailed system designs for solar projects using AutoCAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Create comprehensive schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts that incorporate electrical systems, AC/DC power electronics, Battery Storage Systems and power distribution engineering principles.
- Perform power systems analysis, including load calculations, system protection coordination, and fault analysis aligned with IEEE standards and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Conduct engineering troubleshooting during design development and construction phases to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards such as the California CBC, CEC regulations, and local electrical building codes.
- Support construction teams by providing technical guidance on electrical systems, utility interconnections, and system commissioning processes.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced certifications in power system design or project management are a plus.
- Proven experience in energy sector engineering with a focus on utility electrical systems or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and familiarity with GIS applications for site analysis.
- Strong knowledge of three phase electrical systems, power electronics circuit design, and power system protection techniques.
- Experience with project scheduling tools and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance, IEEE standards implementation, NEC regulations, and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
- Ability to interpret schematics, system diagrams, and electrical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, utility companies, contractors, and team members.
