Software QA Engineer

Job Description

BAP Software LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to help ensure software applications meet quality standards, functional requirements, and user expectations. The successful candidate will design and execute test cases, identify defects, document test results, and collaborate with developers and project teams to resolve software issues before release.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, an understanding of software testing methodologies, and the ability to identify problems and recommend practical solutions throughout the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools.
• Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing before software releases.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and project managers to clarify requirements.
• Test web applications, APIs, and software integrations as needed.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and quality assurance reports.
• Participate in requirements reviews and identify potential quality risks.
• Support release testing and help ensure applications meet acceptance criteria.
• Recommend improvements to testing processes, coverage, and product quality.

Requirements

• Experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related technical role.
• Understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies.
• Ability to create clear test cases and document reproducible defects.
• Familiarity with bug-tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage testing tasks and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Understanding of programming or scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows.
