HR Account Manager

About the role

As an HR Account Manager at Bambee, you lead the HR work for a book of small business clients. You are one of the people owners call when something goes wrong with their people, and you work alongside a Bambee account team to get it resolved.

This is a customer success role for someone who knows HR. You carry a book of business, you spot problems before clients do, and you are measured on client retention and service quality.

What you will do

• Lead the HR work on your accounts. Get to know each client's business, team and open issues, and be their go-to for HR questions.
• Get ahead of problems. Spot the warning signs in an account, like a missing policy, a move into a new state or an employee complaint, and reach out before the owner has to ask.
• Handle cases start to finish. Guide owners through terminations, complaints, accommodations, leave, pay questions and policy updates, with clear next steps and dates.
• Keep clean records. Document every call, case and decision so the whole account team works from the same picture.
• Keep clients for the long run. Know which clients are at risk and have a plan to keep each one.
• Work smart with modern tools. Use the Bambee platform and modern assistant tools to draft policies and letters, research questions and document cases quickly.

What you bring

Required

• 3 or more years of HR generalist, HR business partner or HR consulting experience, including terminations, investigations, leave and accommodations
• 2 or more years managing a large book of customer accounts in a service business, with retention or renewals as part of your goals
• Experience reaching out to existing clients proactively, not only responding to inbound requests
• A track record of closing a high volume of well-documented cases on deadline
• Working knowledge of California and federal employment law (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII), and the judgment to know when a client needs an attorney
• Confidence leading video calls with busy, stressed business owners who are not HR experts
• Clear, fast writing
• Comfort using modern assistant tools in your daily work
• Lives in the Los Angeles area and can work from our LA office every day

Preferred

• PHR, SHRM-CP or PHRca
• Experience supporting small businesses under 100 employees, where the owner is also the HR department
• Salesforce or another CRM
• Spanish

Schedule and location

• Fully in office. Monday through Friday at our Los Angeles office. This is not a hybrid role.
• Two shift options. 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Pacific.

Pay and benefits

• Base salary: $75,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience
• Variable pay: tied to performance. With variable pay, this role earns over $100,000 a year.
