Job Description

Backstop Solutions Group is seeking a skilled Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support business operations and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid programming background, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable software solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to application development, feature enhancements, software integrations, and technical troubleshooting while following established coding standards and development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
• Write clean, reusable, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain APIs, database integrations, and application features.
• Troubleshoot software defects and resolve performance or functionality issues.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
• Create and maintain automated tests to improve software quality.
• Support application updates, deployments, and ongoing maintenance.
• Analyze existing code and recommend improvements to reliability and performance.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate development progress.
• Follow secure coding practices and applicable software quality procedures.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in software development, application engineering, or a related technical role.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, SQL, and version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of software testing, debugging, and the software development life cycle.
• Experience working with collaborative development teams and project workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, modern frameworks, or CI/CD tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
