**We offer a merit\-based work\-from\-home program based on job responsibilities. ** **After initial training in\-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. **

**Please note that we are not currently hiring fully remote positions. Our tech office for this role is in Lansing, Michigan only. **

Auto\-Owners Insurance, a top\-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a web developer to join our Analytics Web Systems team. This role will focus on developing and supporting . NET applications and integrations that connect AWS\-hosted services and data with on\-premises systems.

Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting software applications for new and existing systems. The position requires the person to:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and services using C\# and .NET
  • Develop and support integrations between AWS services and on\-premises applications, APIs, and databases
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and service\-to\-service integrations
  • Develop and support .NET applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and IAM
  • Troubleshoot application and integration issues across AWS and on\-premises environments
  • Work with SQL Server and SQL\-based data integrations
  • Implement secure and reliable application communication using appropriate authentication, authorization, secrets management, logging, error handling, and resiliency patterns
  • Write automated tests and develop clean, maintainable code within a shared codebase
  • Work with Infrastructure as Code to deploy and maintain AWS resources
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with developers, platform engineers, business partners, and other technical teams
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve application reliability, maintainability, and development processes

**Desired Skills and Experience**

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong professional experience developing applications using C\# and .NET
  • Experience developing backend services, REST APIs, or system integrations
  • Professional experience developing or supporting applications in AWS
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM
  • Strong understanding of object\-oriented design and modern software development best practices
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably SQL Server
  • Experience with automated testing, Git, and CI/CD practices
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, SAM, Terraform, or similar tools
  • Experience with containerized .NET applications, serverless or event\-driven architectures, API security, or production application monitoring
