Nurse Practitioner – Wound Care Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of wound care or acute care NP experience and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This is an independent contractor (1099) role with flexible scheduling and highly competitive per-visit compensation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing management of patients with acute and chronic wounds.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including advanced wound care procedures (e.g., debridement, dressing selection, infection management).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient and family education on wound prevention and management strategies.
• Document accurately and timely in EMR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
• Participate in telehealth visits as needed to improve patient access.

Qualifications

• Current and active California NP and RN license (required).
• Minimum 1 years of wound care, acute care, or related NP experience.
• WOCN or CWCN certification preferred (not required).
• Strong clinical skills in wound management and evidence-based practice.
• Proficiency with EMR systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
