Staff Accountant

Overview

Join our accounting team as a Staff Accountant and help keep financial records accurate, organized, and useful for sound decisions. You’ll support corporate accounting through general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting, applying accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This role calls for careful analysis, dependable follow-through, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Duties

• Prepare journal entries and support double-entry bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and general ledger activity; investigate variances and document account analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, credit analysis, and financial reporting using spreadsheets and Excel data analysis.
• Enter and review data in accounting systems and financial software; maintain accurate records and provide responsive customer service.

Experience

• Accounting and finance experience, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and accounts receivable management.
• Working knowledge of accounting, financial concepts, debits and credits, math, numeracy, and financial acumen.
• Microsoft Office and spreadsheet skills; familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero.
• Experience with systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian is useful.
• Exposure to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, technical, public, governmental, or non-profit accounting is preferred.

Pay: $64,700.00 - $78,100.00 per year
