Principal Solutions Architect (Government)

This is a full\-time onsite role based in the location(s) posted and is performed from the designated work location five days per week. No relocation is offered.

The Principal Solutions Architect serves as the senior technical architect responsible for the end\-to\-end solution architecture supporting a critical government program.

Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, this position provides technical leadership for the development, integration, and evolution of the overall program solution architecture, ensuring alignment between customer requirements, program objectives, operational needs, and technical implementation strategies.

The Principal Solutions Architect works across engineering, network operations, cybersecurity, cloud services, test and evaluation, transition, and service delivery organizations to develop a unified architectural vision and maintain architectural integrity throughout the program lifecycle.

The role serves as the primary authority for solution integration, technical trade\-off analysis, architecture governance, and design consistency across all technical domains.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities:**

• Serve as the lead architect for the overall program solution architecture.
• Support the Chief Engineer in developing and maintaining the technical vision, architecture roadmap, and engineering strategy.
• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework governing the FENS solution.
• Ensure integration across network, security, cloud, OSS/BSS, monitoring, automation, service management, and operational platforms.
• Evaluate architectural alternatives and perform technical trade studies to support engineering decisions.
• Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Lead architecture review boards and technical design reviews.
• Ensure consistency between functional requirements, operational requirements, and technical implementation approaches.
• Coordinate solution architecture activities across all engineering disciplines.
• Support requirements analysis, system decomposition, interface definition, and technical allocation activities.
• Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies for complex architectural challenges.
• Work closely with peers across security, engineering, testing and operations teams to ensure design readiness and operational supportability.
• Validate solution scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and performance objectives.
• Support transition planning and operational readiness activities.
• Provide executive\-level technical briefings and architecture recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders.

**Required Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience designing and integrating large\-scale enterprise IT, telecommunications, cloud, or network solutions.
• Experience serving as a lead architect on complex federal programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture frameworks and integrated technical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, automation, and service management systems.
• Experience supporting large\-scale network modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances.

**Desired Qualifications:**

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting enterprise telecommunications, managed network services, and SD\-WAN architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, network transformation, IT service management, and automation platforms.
• Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• TOGAF, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, PMP, or equivalent professional certifications.

Our Principal Solutions Architect's earn between $130,700 \- $261,100\. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT\&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
