Staff Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Darien, IL. The ideal candidate has a foundation in full-cycle accounting and wants to grow their skills in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, with exposure to financial planning and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance in QuickBooks
• Prepare month-end reconciliations for key accounts, including deferred revenue, deferred costs, unbilled receivables, and unearned revenue
• Assist with calculating revenue accruals during the month-end close
• Process and schedule vendor payments
• Support the accounting team with data entry, record-keeping, and maintaining organized financial files
• Help compile accurate, timely accounting information and reports in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Support FP&A activities, including budget-vs-actual variance analysis and preparation of monthly management reports
• Assist the finance team with the annual budget process
• Document key accounting processes and contribute to process improvement efforts with stakeholders across the company

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks (required)
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; working knowledge of Word
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of organization
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive financial and company information

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
