ARC is launching its own third-party administrator (TPA), and we need the person who makes sure every dollar lands where it belongs. You’ll be the first accountant dedicated to our TPA, building the processes that track dealer payments, claim reserves, insurer premiums, and agent commissions from day one.

About the role

As administrator, ARC collects money that largely belongs to others: claim reserves for the obligor, premiums for the insurance carrier, and fees for agents. This role owns the accounting for that money.

A year from now, you’ll have helped set up our new TPA software (PCRS) alongside QuickBooks Online, run clean month-end closes, and become the person our insurance partner, our obligor, and our leadership team rely on for accurate reserve and premium reporting.

To be upfront: this is a new business line for ARC, and most processes don’t exist yet. If you like building things the right way, that’s the opportunity. If you prefer a role where everything is already documented, this may not be the right fit.

What you’ll do

• Own daily cash application of dealer payments in PCRS and keep remittances, receivables, and unapplied cash current.
• Run the monthly funds allocation that moves money into the right accounts: reserves, insurer premium, agent commissions, admin fees, and refunds.
• Reconcile PCRS, QuickBooks Online, and bank and reserve accounts every month, and resolve differences.
• Prepare monthly reports and premium remittances for our insurance carrier and obligor partner.
• Produce agent commission statements, process chargebacks on cancelled contracts, and manage W-9s and 1099s.
• Pay claims and cancellation refunds with the right checks in place, and track uncashed refunds for unclaimed-property reporting.
• Prepare the TPA’s month-end entries, intercompany entries, and KPI reporting, and support audits and state compliance filings.

What we’re looking for

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including monthly account reconciliations.
• Experience closing the books monthly (journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or another general ledger system.
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciling large data sets).
• Able to work on-site in Clinton, MO.

Preferred:

• Experience at a TPA, insurance carrier, warranty company, or reinsurance company.
• Experience accounting for trust, escrow, or other funds held for others.
• Experience with PCRS or another policy- or contract-administration system.
• Experience with commission statements, chargebacks, or 1099 reporting.
• Automotive dealership or F&I experience.

Location

This role works from ARC headquarters in Clinton, Missouri, about 80 miles southeast of Kansas City. We strongly prefer in-office work. Candidates in the Kansas City or Springfield, Missouri areas are welcome if they can drive to HQ regularly.

This role is not remote.

Clinton is the county seat of Henry County, a town of about 9,000 with Kansas City’s airport, sports, and shopping about an hour and a half away.

• Room to think. Truman Lake, Missouri’s largest flood control lake at about 56,000 acres, is known nationally for crappie and bass fishing. Clinton is also the western end of the Katy Trail, the nation’s longest rails-to-trails project.

Compensation

$65,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience.

• 401(k) through Capital Group | American Funds: automatic enrollment and a 3% ARC contribution whether or not you contribute.
• Medical, dental, vision, and life coverage start the first of the month after 60 days of employment; 401(k) eligibility starts the first of the month after 90 days.
