Construction Project Accountant

We are seeking a Project Accountant / Project Coordinator with experience in the commercial construction industry, preferably working for a General Contractor. This role is responsible for supporting project accounting, billing, compliance, document control, and subcontractor administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable and project billing, including AIA progress billings and payment follow-up.
• Track and maintain project documentation, including preliminary notices, lien releases, certified payroll reports, insurance documentation, and compliance records.
• Assist with OCIP/CCIP insurance administration and ensure subcontractor compliance requirements are met.
• Process and track subcontractor payables and related project documentation.
• Support labor compliance requirements and project audits.
• Maintain accurate project records and reporting using Excel and company software platforms.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction project accounting, project coordination, or construction administration.
• Experience working for a General Contractor strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of:
• AIA progress billings
• Preliminary notices and lien releases
• Certified payroll tracking
• Labor compliance requirements
• Construction insurance documentation
• OCIP/CCIP programs (preferred, training available for the right candidate)
• Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, subcontractor payables, and compliance processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. This position utilizes Excel daily and candidates must be comfortable with spreadsheets, reporting, data tracking, formulas, and organization of large amounts of project information.
• Experience with Sage, Textura, GC Pay, and Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.

Pay: $74,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
