Senior Software Engineer - Network Services / Proxy Development

Seniority Senior engineer, ordinarily 8 or more years of relevant software or systems experience.

Mission

Take ownership of an existing Go-based proof of concept and mature it into secure, maintainable, production-ready proxy software.

Core responsibilities

· Review and rapidly understand an existing proxy codebase.

· Develop traffic-management, failover, connection-draining, recovery, telemetry, and operational-control capabilities.

· Build reliable software for persistent TCP connections and stateful traffic movement.

· Resolve defects and improve performance, resiliency, security, and maintainability.

· Build APIs and integration points for automation and operational tooling.

· Own unit, component, and integration testing as part of development.

· Participate in code reviews, SDLC integration, vulnerability remediation, performance certification, and production support.

· Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity and quality.

Required skills

· Strong hands-on development experience in Go or C is mandatory. Candidates without demonstrated Go or C programming experience should not be submitted.

· Linux systems programming, socket programming, concurrency, multithreading, and network services.

· TCP/IP and distributed-systems fundamentals.

· High-performance, highly available, long-running services.

· Automated testing, debugging, profiling, secure coding, and CI/CD practices.

Preferred experience

· Proxy, load-balancing, service-mesh, network-appliance, or traffic-management products.

· Linux kernel networking and eBPF.

· Experience moving a proof of concept through enterprise SDLC and production readiness.
