Apparel & Merchandise Graphic Designer / Production Artist
About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
**Anderson Brothers Design \& Supply**
**$30–$40/hour depending on experience**
We’re looking for a seriously talented **Apparel \& Merchandise Graphic Designer / Production Artist** who can move fast, think creatively, stay organized and bring a great attitude to the studio.
This is **not** a button\-pushing production job.
We need someone who can take an idea, logo, brand or rough direction and turn it into something that actually looks cool.
You’ll be working across apparel, merchandise and branded products for some amazing companies, helping create everything from T\-shirt graphics and hat concepts to full merchandise collections, client presentation decks, catalogs, product mockups and production\-ready tech sheets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating apparel graphics and merchandise concepts
- Building polished product mockups for client presentations
- Mocking up a wide range of non\-apparel merchandise and accessories including stickers, drinkware, signage, bags, patches, pins, packaging, promotional products and more
- Designing presentation decks, catalogs and merchandise assortments
- Creating graphics for hats, tees, fleece, accessories and promotional products
- Building accurate production matrices and tech sheets
- Preparing artwork for screen printing, embroidery and manufacturing
- Manipulating photography, textures, graphics and visual elements in Photoshop
- Cleaning up and rebuilding logos and artwork
- Taking creative direction and quickly developing multiple ideas
- Working on several clients and projects at the same time
- Helping turn loose ideas into finished products
Adobe Illustrator \+ Photoshop Skills Required
This position is probably **90% Adobe Illustrator**, so you need to be an absolute wizard in Illustrator.
Fast. Organized. Accurate.
Creative.
You should know your way around vector artwork, typography, color separations, clipping masks, patterns, production files, mockups and all the little Illustrator tricks that make somebody dangerous in the program.
You also need to be highly proficient in **Adobe Photoshop** and comfortable manipulating photos and graphics, removing backgrounds, adjusting color, creating textures, cleaning up imagery, compositing elements and preparing artwork for presentations and production.
We’re not looking for someone who just knows where the tools are. You need to be able to actually use them.
Who We’re Looking For
The most important thing is that you’re a good human and somebody people actually want to work with.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Creative
- Positive
- Energetic
- Fast
- Detail\-oriented
- A great problem solver
- Comfortable multitasking
- Able to take direction without needing their hand held
- Excited to contribute ideas
- A team player with zero ego
- Calm when 10 things are happening at once
We want someone who can jump into a project and say, **“I got it. ”**
Experience
Ideally **5\+ years of professional graphic design experience**, preferably in apparel, merchandise, screen printing, action sports, fashion, branding or a similar creative industry.
Screen\-printing and apparel production knowledge is a huge plus, but we’d rather hire an amazing designer with the right personality and teach them some production details than hire somebody who knows production but isn’t creative.
Experience creating mockups for both apparel and hard goods / promotional merchandise is also a major plus.
The Environment
We’re a growing apparel and merchandise company working with major brands on everything from corporate merchandise programs to retail\-quality apparel collections.
The office is creative, fast\-moving, fun and a cool playlist playing in the backgournd.
Someone will probably be talking about a T\-shirt, a hat, a sticker, a tumbler or some random product we need mocked up before lunch.
There may be 14 Illustrator files open and three Photoshop files nobody remembers opening.
That’s fairly normal.
We work hard, move quickly and try to make really good stuff with people we enjoy being around.
One More Thing
Send Us a Quick Video
Along with your resume and portfolio, please send us a **quick video, around one minute long, introducing yourself**.
Nothing polished or overproduced. Your phone is totally fine.
Tell us a little about who you are, your background, what kind of design work you love doing and **why you think you’d be a great fit for Anderson Brothers**.
We care a lot about personality, energy, attitude and how someone fits with the team, not just what’s on a resume. This is simply a chance for us to get a feel for who you are.
Be yourself. Keep it casual. We’d much rather see the real you than a perfect presentation.
Compensation
**$30–$40/hour depending on experience and talent. **
If you’re an Illustrator wizard, strong in Photoshop, love apparel and merchandise, have great design instincts and bring a positive attitude to work every day, we’d love to meet you.
