About the Role

AMS is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our HOA Accounting team. This position supports a portfolio of homeowner associations by preparing accurate monthly financial statements and maintaining reliable financial reporting for Board review.
We’re looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing recurring monthly deadlines. HOA accounting experience is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned associations
- Complete bank and account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Review, analyze, and code financial transactions to the general ledger
- Process monthly reserve contributions
- Maintain association budgets and track variances
- Assist with external CPA audits, financial reviews, and annual tax filings
- Communicate with Board members and vendors regarding financial matters
- Assist with 1099 reporting
- Post monthly financial statements to the owner portal
- Support department projects and process improvements
Qualifications
------------------
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of accounting experience
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
