Bakery Operations Manager

Amphora Bakery, a well-established, family-owned bakery in Northern Virginia, is seeking an experienced Bakery Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our bakery production and back-of-house operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in professional baking and pastry production, combined with strong leadership, organizational, and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bakery production, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and timely order fulfillment.
• Manage, train, and supervise bakers, pastry chefs, decorators, and production staff.
• Develop production schedules and manage staffing and labor costs.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, food costs, and waste reduction.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, sanitation, and food safety.
• Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Work closely with ownership on planning, product development, and overall bakery performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on baking and pastry experience, preferably in a high-volume commercial bakery.
• Proven experience managing back-of-house operations and production teams.
• Strong knowledge of cakes, pastries, desserts, and commercial bakery production.
• Experience with labor management, inventory control, purchasing, and cost management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance exceptional product quality with efficient, profitable operations.
