About the Role
As a Sr. Principal Technical Program Manager, SoC Architecture, you will drive planning, execution, and cross-functional alignment for complex SoC architecture initiatives spanning SoC integration, performance, power, and IP development.
You will partner with SoC architects throughout the product lifecycle to manage architecture specifications, performance KPIs, alignment with business product requirements and engineering stakeholders, technical dependencies, issues, risks and change requests and long-range technology roadmaps.
You will be responsible for milestone expectations and alignment within the architecture team and across the other engineering teams ensuring high-quality architecture specifications and performance and power projections, from definition through silicon readiness, that meet the needs of our downstream stakeholders.
What You'll Achieve:
- Be a force multiplier by offloading and supporting the architecture team with planning and execution of end-to-end development of complex, multi-year SoC and IP architecture programs from inception through tape-out and production.
- Organize, plan and track long term technology roadmap pathfinding and development activities and align with SoC product roadmap intercepts.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across hardware architecture, engineering, software, product, operations, safety, security, quality, and suppliers.
- Translate program goals and product requirements into executable plans, milestones, and schedules.
- Establish and improve development processes, operating mechanisms, reviews, and reporting.
- Manage requirements, traceability, dependencies, and change control using tools such as Jama and Jira.
- Maintain risk, issue, action, and decision logs; drive owners toward resolution.
- Facilitate planning meetings, spec reviews, dependency reviews, and leadership updates.
- Develop dashboards and automated reporting for metrics such as:
- + Milestone progress
+ Arch spec completeness and quality
+ Power and performance KPI modeling & validation
+ Burndown and burnup
+ Scope change
+ Dependency status
+ Open risks and issues
+ Schedule confidence
- Use automation to generate roadmaps, reports, statistics, and program materials from data sources such as Jama, Jira, spreadsheets, and APIs.
- Communicate status, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical and executive audiences.
- Support continuous improvement of hardware architecture processes and methodologies.
About you:
- 8+ years of proven Technical Program Management experience supporting silicon/SoC product development across the full lifecycle, including architecture, design, and verification through manufacturing, post-silicon validation, and debug—or comparable experience in the semiconductor design industry.
- Supremely detail oriented, proactive and organized with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability leading and/or managing large-scale, complex silicon/SoC development programs involving architecture, engineering, software, validation, operations, manufacturing, and product stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication capabilities, including the ability to influence technical and non-technical teams at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to modulate to a wide variety of experience levels and personalities, from junior to very experienced and seasoned technical experts.
- Hands-on proficiency with TPM planning and execution tools, including Jira and Excel, to manage schedules, dependencies, action items, metrics, and program reporting.
- Strong structured problem-solving and execution skills, with a track record of identifying risks, removing blockers, and delivering programs to committed milestones.
- Comfortable operating effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; able to bring clarity, define priorities, and drive alignment across competing requirements.
- Additional skills highly desired: Process and Quality-Systems Fluency; Familiarity with ISO 9001, 26262 and 21434 Processes; Rapid Technical Learning and Adaptability.
Education:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science & 12 years of related experience, MS degree & 8 years, or PhD & 5 years
