Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position covering Kenosha and Racine Counties, requiring 3+ years of OT experience and a valid driver's license.

Details

  • Home health setting covering Kenosha and Racine Counties, Wisconsin
  • Treat adult patients exclusively in home health settings
  • Common diagnoses include geriatrics, post-stroke, post-joint replacement, weakness, deconditioning, COPD, and CHF
  • Collaborate with RN and PT interdisciplinary teams with daily morning phone huddles
  • Caseload of 6 patients/points per day, with evaluation visits weighted at 1.5 and standard visits at 1
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 0745-1600
  • May require floating to neighboring counties, with most patients within 20-30 minutes but occasional travel up to an hour
  • No weekend rotation, on-call duties, or holiday requirements
  • EPIC EMR preferred

Requirements

  • WI OT license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of OT experience, preferably in home health, SNF, or acute care
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy accepted
  • Must have a personal vehicle, active driver's license, and active auto insurance
  • General OT treatment and evaluation skills with a focus on ADLs and adaptive equipment
  • Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Supported by RN and PT interdisciplinary team, RN supervisor, PT lead, PT manager, and other OTs
  • First day of orientation at National Avenue office in Milwaukee, including EPIC class, followed by orientation with a preceptor
  • Business casual attire or any color scrubs accepted
  • Parking available at patient homes
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rules
  • Former employees of Advocate Health or subsidiaries must be separated at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
  • RTO requests go through the manager
