Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient acute care position requiring 1+ year of experience in a Level 2 trauma center setting.

Details

  • Acute care inpatient setting at a Level 2 trauma center
  • OT Inpatient unit serving adult and pediatric populations
  • Patient population includes adult and pediatric ICUs, stroke, trauma, neuro, ortho, general med surg, oncology, and same-day discharge joint program patients
  • Covers adult and pediatric acute inpatient rehab, pediatric inpatient rehab program, and stroke specialty program
  • Department treats approximately 120-150 patients per day with 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per therapist per day
  • Cerner EMR used, transitioning to Epic
  • Day shift, 8-hour shifts, variable scheduling
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required with core staff
  • Self-scheduling not permitted
  • Works alongside 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA

Requirements

  • Current OT license required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ADL evaluation and documentation justifying next level of care
  • Strong teamwork skills and flexibility required

Additional Information

  • Perform ADL evaluations and document to justify next level of care
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including rehab aides and COTAs
  • Must clock in and out at the facility
  • Dress code requires any solid color scrubs, clean and professional appearance
  • Department-specific orientation varies based on skill level
  • OT professionals must go through facility credentialing process which can extend onboarding timeline
  • All required licensure, including state license, must be completed in time to meet credentialing deadlines
  • Local candidates accepted
