Assistant Interior Designer

Job Summary:

We are hiring an Assistant Interior Designer to support our design team and keep client selections moving from concept to production\-ready. This is an assistant\-level / starting\-out role with room to grow. You will work closely with designers, sales, estimators, vendors, and clients to drive the selection process to completion so projects hand off cleanly to production.

Founded in 1996, AMEK Design \+ Build is a local, award\-winning Twin Cities remodeler.

Pay: $20–$25/hr (non\-exempt). In\-person role based in Bloomington / Twin Cities.

Responsibilities:

• Support designers through detailed style, finish, and color selections on residential remodel projects
• Help schedule selection appointments, set priorities, and hit due dates
• Enter and double\-check all selections in our systems after client and vendor visits
• Work directly with vendors on quotes, layouts, specs, and drawings until selections and pricing are right
• Brief vendors on project scope, client style, allowances, and prior decisions
• Bridge designers, estimators, and vendors when allowance or change\-order cost variances arise
• Build clear selection summaries (cabinetry, plumbing, appliances, flooring, firebox, and related specs) and post them with layouts for production and trades
• Participate in client and team meetings as requested

Qualifications:

• Strong eye for residential interior design and finishes
• Organized, detail\-oriented, and calm with clients and vendors
• Comfortable juggling several projects and following through to completion
• Associate’s degree in Interior Design (or related) preferred, or equivalent education and experience
• Chief Architect experience a plus (our design software)
• Prior remodeling, design studio, or showroom experience a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team\-first professionalism
