About Us
We are a growing CPA firm serving small businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals, primarily throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our firm provides comprehensive accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning, and advisory services. As our accounting and bookkeeping practice continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of client accounting engagements and help support the continued growth of our firm.
This position is ideal for an experienced accountant, CPA, or former auditor with a strong foundation in financial accounting and GAAP who enjoys working directly with small businesses.
We operate in a fully digital, remote environment and are looking for someone who is highly independent, technologically proficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly accounting and bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Perform bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments.
- Review and clean up historical accounting records, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex bookkeeping issues.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and appropriate accounting principles.
- Review client QuickBooks Online accounts for accuracy, completeness, and proper financial reporting.
- Assist with QuickBooks Online setup, chart of accounts optimization, and accounting workflow improvements.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting questions, missing information, and financial reporting.
- Manage multiple client engagements independently while meeting monthly and year-end deadlines.
- Assist with year-end accounting adjustments and preparation of financial records for business tax returns.
- Provide occasional assistance with individual and business tax return preparation, depending on experience and workload.
- Help develop and improve internal accounting procedures as our bookkeeping practice continues to grow.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Extensive experience preparing financial statements and performing complex reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting.
- Ability to independently identify and correct accounting errors.
- Experience managing multiple businesses or client accounting engagements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with clients.
- Highly technologically proficient and comfortable working in a fully remote, paperless environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license strongly preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Previous experience in public accounting, auditing, or client accounting services.
- Experience working with small businesses, S-Corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online Accountant and multiple client company files.
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.
- Familiarity with business tax returns, including Forms 1120-S and 1065.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Excel, cloud-based accounting platforms, and digital document management systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: Up to $65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time, fully remote position.
- Discretionary performance bonuses.
- 401(k) with employer matching.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off.
- Flexible work environment.
- Professional development opportunities.
- Opportunities for advancement as our accounting practice continues to expand.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a growing CPA firm with an expanding accounting and bookkeeping practice.

You will work with a diverse portfolio of small businesses, solve challenging accounting issues, and have the opportunity to help shape the future of our accounting services.
We value professionals who take ownership of their work, communicate clearly, embrace technology, and continuously look for ways to improve processes and client service.
Important
This position requires advanced, hands-on QuickBooks Online experience. Candidates whose experience is limited to basic bookkeeping, data entry, or QuickBooks Desktop without substantial QuickBooks Online experience may not be a suitable fit.
