Graphic Designer / Production Specialist – Signs, Wraps & Graphics

ALTA Creative is a growing commercial printing and signage company specializing in custom signs, wall and window graphics, retail graphics, displays, decals, banners, vehicle graphics, and other large\-format print applications.

We’re looking for an experienced Graphic Designer / Production Specialist with previous experience in the sign, print, or large\-format graphics industry.

This is a fast\-paced, hands\-on position for someone who already understands the workflow of a production print environment. We are looking for someone who can come in with relevant industry experience and quickly contribute to our team.

This is not a remote or design\-only position. You’ll be designing, preparing production files, operating large\-format printing equipment, managing revisions, and helping keep multiple projects moving through production at the same time.

What You’ll Do

• Design signs, wall graphics, window graphics, retail graphics, displays, banners, decals, vehicle graphics, and other commercial print projects
• Create clean, professional designs based on customer branding and project requirements
• Develop layouts, concepts, and production artwork from customer\-provided assets and direction
• Prepare and preflight files for large\-format printing, cutting, routing, and finishing
• Manage multiple active projects, revisions, and production deadlines simultaneously
• Prioritize work effectively in a fast\-paced environment where schedules and priorities can change throughout the day
• Make customer revisions accurately and efficiently
• Operate large\-format printers and assist with daily print production
• Set up cut and production files for finishing equipment
• Verify dimensions, spelling, colors, bleeds, resolution, and other production details before jobs are released
• Work closely with sales and production to move projects from concept through completion
• Identify potential design or production issues before they become costly mistakes
• Take ownership of assigned projects and follow them through production
• Help maintain an organized and efficient production workflow

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Previous professional experience in a sign shop, large\-format print shop, or similar commercial graphics production environment
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
• Strong Adobe Photoshop skills
• Experience preparing production\-ready files for large\-format printing
• Understanding of how artwork translates into a finished physical product
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple jobs at the same time
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced production environment
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, branding, and visual hierarchy
• Ability to develop original, professional designs from customer direction and supplied assets
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
• Strong organizational and problem\-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Industry Experience

We are specifically looking for someone with experience in the signage, large\-format printing, or commercial graphics industry.

The ideal candidate already understands concepts such as:

• Production\-ready artwork
• Bleeds, cut paths, contour cuts, and finishing requirements
• Large\-format print resolution and file setup
• Working with customer\-supplied artwork
• Vinyl and laminated graphics
• Common sign and print substrates
• RIP and print production workflows
• Preparing artwork for different production methods
• Checking dimensions and specifications before releasing a job to production

Experience with HP Latex, Roland, ONYX, CNC routing, digital cutting equipment, signage production, or similar equipment and workflows is a plus.

The Person Who Will Succeed Here

Our shop moves quickly. On a typical day, you may be designing one project, making revisions to another, preparing several jobs for production, running prints, answering a production question, and then switching back to design.

You need to be comfortable multitasking, changing priorities, and keeping track of multiple projects without losing attention to detail.

We’re looking for someone who is self\-directed and takes initiative. If you see something that needs to be done, we want you to take ownership of it rather than waiting for step\-by\-step direction.

Attention to detail is extremely important. Our projects are custom manufactured products, and mistakes in artwork, dimensions, or production setup can result in significant wasted material and labor.
