Associate Attorney – Defense Litigation

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join a defense litigation practice in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience handling premises liability and personal injury matters, preferably representing clients in the casino and hospitality industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle defense litigation matters involving premises liability, personal injury, and related claims.
• Assist with case evaluation, litigation strategy, and the development of effective defense approaches.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery, review case materials, and assist with deposition preparation and other litigation proceedings.
• Represent clients in litigation-related proceedings and assist with settlement negotiations as appropriate.
• Analyze legal issues, assess potential liability, and identify risks and opportunities in individual cases.
• Maintain accurate case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedural requirements.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, colleagues, and other relevant parties.
• Manage multiple cases and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the New Jersey Bar.
• Approximately 2–4 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably involving premises liability and personal injury matters.
• Experience representing clients in the casino, hospitality, or related industries is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, legal research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal practice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal software applications.
• Familiarity with NetDocuments (NetDocs) and Time Matters is a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $90,000–$125,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
