Registered Nurse Trainer (RNT) - CILA/IDHS

ALPHA TO OMEGA LIVING is seeking a reliable, dependable, and qualified IDHS Registered Nurse Trainer with CILA EXPERIENCE. MUST BE IDHS CERTIFIED/TRAINED who has taken the required (2) day training with IDHS.

Our CILA home is located in the greater area of South Holland who provides services/support to (5) amazing young adults with Intellectual Disabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities: Hourly & Monthly Compensation will be provided for:

Ensure compliance/participation for Rule 116 IDHS yearly surveys.

• Pro-active in the recommendation of medication changes and staff training, as needed.
• Provide Medication Administration Training for all current (re-training) and new staff members.
• Be available on an On Call basis for Medication Administration and health consultation for DSPs and resideints.
• Complete initial/annual Nursing Assessments on all residents in the Program(s).
• Complete Self Administration of Medication Assessment (SAMA) on all individuals initially and annually thereafter.
• Complete Quarterly Med Error Reports and Year End Reports timely.
• Ensure all medication orders are promptly and accurately communicated to the pharmacies, to the sites, and to staff who are administering the medications.
• Ensure that all prescribed (including over-the-counter) medications are at the sites and are being accurately administered.
• Complete monthly (beginning/end of month) MAR/POS/Rx checks.
• Maintain accurate records of controlled medications.
• Refer individuals to specialists, as needed/review lab draws recommended by residents PCP.
• Communicate regularly with House Manager/QIDP/BCBA (regarding the residents caseload.)
• Participate in virtual Monthly Staff meetings.
• Participate in virtual Quarterly BMC/HRC meetings; Tele-Med Psych appointments

Qualifications:

• Must have completed 2 day specialized training with IDHS to become a RNT.
• Must have at least (5) years of professional nursing clinical experience within the last 5 years preferably in the field of developmental disabilities.
• Must have current RN license.
• Preferred (3) years working in a CILA/ID-DD population.
• Preferred Google Suite; Microsoft Suite; and Adobe proficient
• Must possess Core Computer Literacy Skills

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• RN (Required)
• Illinois Department of Human Services as a Nurse-Trainer (Required)
• Certified by the HRST system as a Rater (TBD)
• Certified by the HRST system Clinical Reviewer (TBD)
