DESCRIPTION OF POSITION / DUTIES

All Points is seeking a Systems Engineer (Mid) to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems engineering and architecture activities in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Systems Engineering & Integration Team (SE&IT) is seeking a mid-level Responsible Systems Engineer to lead cross-functional systems engineering activities supporting Missile Defense Agency system design and requirements development.

The selected candidate will support system architecture development, requirements engineering, interface definition, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities, and stakeholder engagement efforts that influence incremental missile defense capability development.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Systems Engineering & Architecture Development

  • Lead cross-functional systems engineering teams in developing system-level technical solutions for MDA programs
  • Guide development of system architecture, requirements, and interfaces supporting incremental capability development
  • Perform functional decomposition and requirements allocation activities across complex missile defense systems
  • Develop and maintain system-level architectural products and technical baselines
  • Support system-of-systems engineering activities across multiple integrated missile defense elements

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Utilize MBSE methodologies and tools to develop and evaluate system architectures
  • Develop architectural models supporting performance, functional, and interface requirements
  • Apply functional behavior analysis to evaluate architectural impacts against conventional and advanced threats
  • Support model development, maintenance, verification, and stakeholder review activities

Requirements & Interface Engineering

  • Develop, maintain, and manage system requirements and interface definitions
  • Support requirements traceability from system-level requirements to element-level implementation
  • Lead Change Notices to MDA system specifications affecting functional, interface, and performance requirements
  • Conduct requirements analysis and verification activities to ensure technical completeness and consistency

Technical Analysis & Trade Studies

  • Conduct system and component trade studies evaluating technical alternatives and architectural approaches
  • Analyze technical impacts of system changes and capability enhancements
  • Support performance assessments and technical evaluations of missile defense architectures
  • Develop recommendations supporting system design decisions and program objectives

Technical Documentation & Briefings

  • Prepare technical briefings, architectural products, requirements documentation, and Change Notices
  • Present technical concepts, recommendations, and analysis results to internal and MDA stakeholders
  • Develop written technical products supporting customer reviews and engineering decision-making activities
  • Support internal design reviews, customer reviews, and technical interchange meetings

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with MDA customers, systems engineers, architects, and technical teams
  • Work independently and as part of a small engineering team
  • Support customer engagement activities and requirements discussions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering and architecture processes

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in:

  • Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Related technical discipline

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • Mid-Level Systems Engineering Experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience preferred

COMPENSATION

$140,000 – $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position supports Missile Defense Agency systems engineering and architectural development efforts and requires full-time onsite support in Huntsville, Alabama.
