Ecommerce Operations Manager

buhzd is a premium spirits ecommerce business based in Southern California. We sell tequila, whiskey, mezcal, and other spirits through our Shopify store and ship across California.

We’re looking for a hands-on Ecommerce Operations Manager to run daily operations, improve profitability, and support growth. You will report directly to the founding partners and oversee fulfillment, inventory, customer service, marketing, and financial reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Manage daily Shopify operations, including orders, inventory, product listings, shipping settings, and apps.
• Track product costs, packaging, shipping expenses, and taxes in BeProfit to measure profitability.
• Prepare weekly financial summaries and monthly reviews of sales, refunds, chargebacks, and advertising expenses.
• Manage order fulfillment, including sourcing, packing, labeling, shipping, and returns.
• Implement dynamic shipping rates and complete the FedEx integration.
• Standardize packaging and document fulfillment procedures.
• Submit and follow up on carrier damage and loss claims.
• Purchase inventory based on demand and margins, and maintain accurate stock counts.
• Build relationships with distributors and liquor retailers throughout Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
• Handle customer emails, support tickets, shipment issues, and chargebacks.
• Manage Google Ads and Merchant Center campaigns.
• Coordinate weekly promotional emails and text messages through Klaviyo.
• Supervise contractors and provide written weekly updates to the partners.

Required Qualifications

• Three or more years of ecommerce or direct-to-consumer operations experience, or three or more years managing a small business.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify administration.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and an understanding of product costs, pricing, and profit margins.
• Strong organization, written communication, and follow-through.
• Ability to work on site in Riverside / Moreno Valley.
• Reliable vehicle, valid California driver’s license, and willingness to travel regularly to Los Angeles and other Southern California locations.
• Ability to lift and move cases weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BeProfit or similar profitability software, Klaviyo, Google Ads, and Merchant Center.
• Experience shipping fragile or regulated goods and handling carrier claims.
• Experience in spirits, wine, or beverage retail or distribution.
• Experience using AI tools to automate reporting and routine tasks.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will establish accurate order-level cost reporting, improve shipping and packaging procedures, maintain a stocked core catalog with verified margins, and deliver clear weekly business reports.

Compensation

• Annual salary of $72,384–$72,500.
• Mileage reimbursement for business travel.
