Cloud Software Engineer

Job Description

Akamai Technologies is seeking a skilled Cloud Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based software systems. The ideal candidate has experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, backend development, and modern software engineering practices.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams to build reliable cloud services, improve application performance, and support secure digital experiences for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software applications.
• Build scalable backend services and distributed system components.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and cloud services.
• Implement automated testing and software deployment processes.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot system issues.
• Improve cloud application security, reliability, and scalability.
• Work with containerized applications and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and technical architecture discussions.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.

Required Technical Skills

• Professional experience in software engineering or cloud development.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or C++.
• Understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems.
• Experience with REST APIs and backend application development.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of databases and data structures.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience with Terraform or infrastructure automation.
• Understanding of networking, DNS, HTTP, and CDN technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud security and monitoring tools.
• Experience with high-availability and large-scale applications.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
